Biblical definition of love: (Ref. Corithians) - Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; endures all things.
Acording to me i think love is giving, giving and giving and we should not expect any returns..... no matter how feasible is this, but when i think from my heart this is the only definition of LOVE. Sounds so romantic isnt'it? On the other hand for the spiritual person, it is not a sentiment at all, but a state of mind in which love exists.
Recently I read a book, I am quoting a story from that. It goes like this:
A nurse recounted: "While taking care of my patient's wound, we began talking, and he told me that he needed to visit the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. She had been there for a while, a victim of Alzheimer's disease. I asked him if his wife would be worried if he was a bit late, whereupon he replied that due to her loss of memory she no longer knew who he was, nor had she recognized him in five years. I was surprised and asked him: 'And you still go every morning?' I had to hold back tears when he smiled, patted my hand and said: 'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.' I realized that true love is neither physical nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, that has been, that will or even will not be."
Above story has said so much bout love that really i m feeling short of words... so let me finish by some of my favourite quatation:
"Do you love me because I am beautiful, or am I beautiful because you love me?" - Cinderella
"Love reminds you that nothing else matters." - Amy Bushell -
So thats all for today really "Its good to be in luv, u feel close to GOD.......

I think this is the right definition of true Love. if we really love someone then their is no space for expectation. In my opinion this true love is also a best example of SELFLESS LOVE.
ReplyDeleteFirst let me congratulate you for writing on such a soul searching topic. FANTABULOUS Lils....
ReplyDeleteJust as oil is present in every part of the olive, so is love exist in every part of the creation. But to define love is very difficult, for the same reason that words cannot fully describe the flavor of an Orange. We have to taste the fruit to know its flavour. So with the LOVE.
All of us tasted love in ourlifetime in some form or the other. When we were child Love means only "Our Parents'. When we reached our teens, friends joins our love list. Then after few years the whole Lovelist gets erassed by the Lover (generally). Then comes Love for our spouses, then our children, then our grandchildren and if God allows great grandchildren may also join our list.
Though we all experience Love, but many of us wouldn't think it even necessary to analyze what love is. They recognize love as the feeling they have for their relatives, friends, and others to whom they are strongly attracted. But there is much more to it than that. The only way I can describe REAL Love is by telling you about its effect. If we could feel even a drop of Intoxicating happiness i.e. Bliss, then know that as the ONLY TRUE LOVE, till then we are just a traveller in search of True Love. Love is not ultimate, The Ultimate is Bliss. Now the question comes how do we know that we have received the treasure of True Love. When we receive the treasure, then all the divine emotions - love, compassion, courage, self-sacrifice, humility - would be meaningless without Joy. Joy means an expression of the ultimate Bliss.
All the very Best for your Journey of writing. May Lord Bless you with heart touching words...
